Happy Independence Day
Madhu Goud Yaskhi
To me Independence is about restoring the Patriotism of the bygone era and instilling in one and all a feeling of unity. In present times there is ‘nt a need for the extreme sacrifices our elders have made however there are other demons to fight.
If in our everyday life we can spare a few moments to think of our country to keep it clean {avoid defacing national monuments}, curtail pollution, abide by laws, pay our taxes, avoid exploitation and lend a helping hand to the needy, my vision for India would be fulfilled.
Secondly, though we have been liberated from the British now for 62 yrs one fourth of our current population which is about equivalent to the entire population in 1947 is below the poverty line. We have made remarkable strides in progress. The concern is the financial divide has also widened, leaving the have-nots far behind. We should strive for a more uniform growth. The poor are equal citizens of India and they should be incorporated in the growth plans of the country.
Concluding, India has the dubious distinction of being in the top 10 of the most corrupt nations. Accountability and transparency among the officials especially in the Government sector would go a long way in improving this situation.
Finally mera bharat hamesha mahaan rahe aur sare jahaan se acha rahe.
Jai Hind
